SEGGAU CASTLE with its century long tradition as a place of meeting and of integration, is staying true to its history in the present and will also stay true to it in the future. For many centuries, the castle served as an Episcopal vineyard in the maintenance of the relative spiritual leader of the Graz-Seckau diocese and it served in his representation of the Styrian church. As such, it was also the main employer of the region and a place of meeting for diverse occasions. The Episcopal rooms of representation were places of both debate and of dialogue between the church, science and politics.
These basic principles are still valid in SEGGAU CASTLE to this day, after nearly 800 years: It is a house of the church and a home to the bishop and as such it has obliged itself to uphold the biblical mission and the traditions of the church. It is an important and reliable employer of the region. It is a place of meeting and of dialogue, as you will see in our self-concept.
